A Message from Our Team

On December 30th, 2021, citizens of Boulder County experienced a tragedy they never imagined would happen. The Marshall Fire, having decimated the mental and emotional pieces of our community just as much as the physical parts, illuminated the major issue of our modern age. While it is difficult to attribute any one event to the general trend that is climate change, it is impossible to refute that this was a direct result of global warming. As the Colorado community continues to support the victims of the devastation, high school students in Boulder Valley School District are stepping up to attack the foundation of the disaster - climate change itself. Trees have incredible abilities when it comes to aiding the environment, most notably, absorbing carbon dioxide and offsetting our emissions. They also prevent soil erosion, increase rainfall to prevent drought, and contribute to increased biodiversity. Enough trees can pull Earth back from disaster, stabilizing our global climate. Environmental clubs from Centaurus, Peak to Peak, Monarch, Boulder, and Fairview High School aim to do their part in planting trees by partnering with Tree-Plenish. Our goal is to plant over 1200 saplings in and around Boulder County on Earth Day: April 22, 2022. This event aims to bring our community together and rebuild after the Marshall Fire, and we hope to inspire more fights against climate change. You can help out by ordering an Eastern Redbud, Red Oak, or Blue Spruce sapling for your yard, spreading the word to others around the community, and signing up to volunteer. Saplings are $5.00 each, but you can get one for free on a first come first serve basis thanks to our generous sponsors. If you order a tree, a team of volunteers will deliver and plant it on the day of the event. We are so excited to plant tons of trees with you all!
