Order a sapling by April 3, 2024 to help offset GreenShare's energy consumption
A Message from Our Team
GreenShare is hosting a community wide tree-planting event to offset Jericho Senior High School’s annual energy consumption. Our goal is to plant as many trees possible. A total of 1280 saplings would offset 100% of carbon Jericho Senior High School emitted from electric and gas last year. Our event will be held May 18th. Residents can support our mission by ordering saplings for $5 or signing up to plant saplings in residents’ yards on the day of the event. Residents can choose from Red Maple, American Sycamore, and Sweet Birch. We look forward to making our community more sustainable!

Sapling Information
Saplings will come as bareroot saplings. This means they are dormant until they are planted and typically bloom 4-6 weeks after being planted. Here is an example of what bareroot saplings look like.

I am currently a junior at Jericho Senior High School. I am the founder of the GreenShare nonprofit and am passionate about promoting sustainability in my community. I aspire for long island to reach carbon neutrality!

I am currently a junior at Jericho Senior High School. I am a member of Greenshare and am eager to be a part of creating a more sustainable future! I hope our actions can inspire others to be more environmentally friendly!

Hi, I’m Ellen and I’m a junior at Jericho Senior High School. My hobbies include playing badminton, volleyball, and shopping. In my free time I am listening to music, hanging out with my friends, or sleeping. I aspire to make a change in my community by working to create more sustainability in our lives!

I’m Chloe Yang and I’m a sophomore at Jericho Senior High School. I enjoy playing volleyball, listening to music, and biking outdoors. I would love to use my creativity to help us practice more sustainably and share our cause to a larger audience. I love spending time outdoors and I aspire to teach others to be more environmentally friendly and kind to our Earth!
